Having someone declared deceased

What kind of lawyer do I need to have someone declared deceased in the state of Alabama? This person has been missing for more than 20 years.

Re: Having someone declared deceased

You are looking for an attorney that handles probate matters in the county of residence (or last county the person was seen in) of the person presumed deceased. It is a fairly detailed process to go through but from the few facts you have stated, should be possible. Inquire about Administering the Estate of a Person Presumed Dead.

Re: Having someone declared deceased

A Probate lawyer would be best, and one who is located in the same county as the deceased would be best as well. Do you know which county he was last located in? If you do, I might be able to point you in the right direction.
