Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama
revocable living trust
Does a revocable living trust shield my primary residence from lawsuits ? My grown son (57) was hospitalized with a stroke and I signed him into the hospital for emergency care.

Re: revocable living trust
It can if properly drafted and if it has been adhered to, not set up and then ignored but the home would have needed to be transfered into the RLT in order to obtain the benefits.
Are you concerned that the hospital will attempt to hold you financially accountable for your adult son's medical expenses? Don't be. They cannot force you to accept responsibility for that. Even if someone strongarmed you into signing some form they said was required, that is a contract of adhesion and will be unenforcable.
