Legal Question in Business Law in Alaska

leins

What type of lein do I need to file for a connex. I believe it would be a real estate lein but am not completely sure.

Second question: How does one go about taking back possession of an account that was placed with a collection agency?

Thank you for your time.

Re: leins

Property liens are not always available to secure every claim. Modern liens are almost exclusively created by statutory law, and the type and availability of a lien will depend on the facts and circumstances of the claim and the nature of the property in question. For example, unless it is somehow installed on a permanent foundation, a connex shipping container would be considered personal, not real property, and any attempt to obtain a real estate lien would accomplish nothing but to get you in trouble.

As for your second question, generally, a legitimate agency will reassign an account on request, however the terms of your collection agreement with the agency will determine your rights in the event of any dispute.
