Legal Question in Technology Law in Alaska

does an email count as written consent?

I intend to ask a company based outside of the state of Alaska for permission to copy information from a manual they have written and I have purchased. The copyright notice states that I cannot do so without express written consent. Does an email giving consent, sent to me, count as "express written consent", or do I have to get them to send me an actual, physical letter?

Re: does an email count as written consent?

I would certainly hate to be in the position of arguing that it did not. If you get an e-mail consent, you should feel comfortable in relying upon it.
