Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alaska

What is the statute of limitations on worthless checks in Alabama? My boyfriend hasnt lived in AL for almost 13 years and just received a notice from the SAO that an arrest warrant was issued for worthless checks in his name. The checks total less than $30 but the total fees due now are over $330.

He attempted to contact the number on the notice, but it went to a voice mail. Does this seem legitimate?

You have asked this question in the wrong place. Your question ended up under "Alaska law", not "Alabama Law". I expect this is because someone confused the postal code for Alabama (AL) with that for Alaska (AK).

Anyway, the statute of limitations for most misdemeanors in Alabama is 1 year, and for felonies it is three years.

What is the SAO?
