Legal Question in Personal Injury in Alaska

If I work for a government agency and my supervisor asks me to sign other peoples initials on documents that could possibly cause another person to be held liable in court, is that fraud or forgery or something else. For instance , if a fire occured and the exit signs were not working and someone was killed or injured in the fire, and it was found that " A" 's initials were on a series of work orders stating that he had checked the exit signs every month for two years previously, the last being a couple of days previous to the fire. Could a be held liable since he had been responsible for checking the sign.

If a fire didn't occur or any other incident, could the person whose initials are being forged take any legal action to stop his initials from being forged.

Not only could "A" be held liable, you could be held liable if your falsifying the initials on the records were held to be a proximate cause of the death or injury.
