Water Damaged New Furniture

Just wondering if the apartment complex would be responsible for a broken water valve (maintance broke) which ruined about $4000.00 worth of furniture.

The answer could change somewhat with the facts, but normally the landlord is responsible for maintaining the plumbing, and would be liable if it was done negligently.
