Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Alaska

What can you do when you are harassed by the owner.

Who can I tell in my work enviroment. The owner of the company I work for has made unappropriate sexual advances. On a ''buisness trip''. We were traveling on a delivery for the company. It was my first large sale and he wanted me to see the other side of the project. My delivery was scheduled for a 10 hour drive one way. On the trip I was asked if I would make love to him twice, told I looked good, asked if he could kiss a sore foot to make it better, told to take my clothes off, many other sexual suggestions were mentioned. We were in the middle of now where Alaska. I did not tell him to stop talking to me that way. I simply ignored him. In fear of what might happen. I never thought he would say these things. He gives one the impression of a good hard working man. Has a family, children my age, goes to a local church with many other co-workers. Treats his employee's fare. I am fearful of my percption of others.

What is the best way for me to get out of this company and who should I tell. Since this only happened once and with no witnesses I am afraid there is nothing I can do. Guidance PLEASE!

Re: What can you do when you are harassed by the owner.

What you experienced is illegal sexual harassment, and the law does provide remedies. To answer your question, I believe that the best way "out" of this company is one that is negotiated by your attorney, and which involves a confidential settlement- since it sounds like your amorous boss has a lot to lose if these allegations become known. From my perspective, he needs to pay for his inappropriate conduct. Contact me if you wish to go further.
