my husbands father died in 2007 he was ak native. held shares in his native corp. he passed these shares to his wife. she died in 2010. she is not native. she was not the legal parent to my husband and has no children only a brother who is also not native. what happends to these shares she did have a will. but idk if she can gift or pass shares because she was not native

Were there any restrictions on transfer printed on the shares when received from the estate of your husband's father? If not, she would be free to transfer them to whomever she chose, or, since she made no will, they would go to her heir under the intestacy statute. That would appear to be her brother.

You should contact the native corporation to determine if there are any remaining restrictions under ANICLA, , 43 USC section 1601 et seq.
