Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Arizona

Sexual discrimination

Do the sexual discimination protections apply to any situation other than employment? If you feel that a female was discriminated against in a court of law due to sexual orientation discrimination with the consequence of losing her children and having to pay child support, assuming all family debts, on a salary of less than $20,000 is there legal recourse available through EOC or other legal institutations?

Re: Sexual discrimination

Unfortunately, discrimination of all kinds is a reality in the courtroom, just as in other areas of American life.

Equally unfortunately, judges are completely immune from civil liability. (They can't be sued.)

However, complaints of judicial impropriety can be filed with responsible authorities of your jurisdiction. Check with your local bar association and ask about the proper office with which to file a complaint for judicial misconduct.
