When is it legal for someone to ign my name without my permission

Basically, it is unlawful for someone to sign your name for you without your permission if done with the purpose of defrauding you or someone else.

The short answer is that it is not legal for someone else to sign your name to anything without your permission.

There are times when it is harmless for them to have done so, but other times it is not. Whether you have a legal case really depends on whether their doing so caused you any harm that can be addressed by the court.
