Appeals are to errors made by participants such as the judge, jurors, and lawyers. Proper objections to the error must have been made at the appropriate time to preserve the error for appeal purposes. This is often dependent upon the skill of your trial lawyer. Some areas of appeal could be the jury selection, pretrial motions, motions during trial, evidence, jury instructions and conduct of the parties or witnesses just to name a few. There are more areas that could develope for trial errors permitting an appeal on that issue. This is why an experienced criminal trial lawyer representing the accused, is critical whenever someone is charged with a crime, just in case of a guilty verdict.
