Minor in consumption

My son is a student in Arizona, and received a citation for a Minor in consumption with his friends. He was walking back to the dorm with his friends and the police came and asked if he was drinking he said he had a few earlier. They did not check his blood or breathe test. What can he do?

Re: Minor in consumption

Under Arizona law, it is a crime for a person to have any alcohol in their body. If the person charged admits to the police that they recently consumber alcohol and the officer detects an odor of alcohol, that would likely be enough evidence for the filing of charges. Many courts offer diversion programs for this charge whereby the minor can get the case dismissed after completing a class. I can be reached at [email protected] if you have any further questions.
