Legal Question in DUI Law in Arizona

Law school with a DUI?

Hello,

This summer I got a DUI, with a 0.09. I was hoping to go to law school in the near future. Really, if I'm convicted, should I forget it? I was told that I wouldn't be admitted, but the person who told me heard it from someone else, and you know how that goes. Is there anything I should know?

OF COURSE YOU SHOULD NOT FORGET IT! Go to law school and kick ass. The main thing is this: DO NOT CONCEAL the prior DUI. Mention it on your application. "I was convicted of the charge of DUI in the Municipal Court of Skunkbreath, Alabraska on June 1, 2009 based on having a purported alcohol concentration of .09, or one-one hundredth of a gram over the legal limit. Adjunct to this conviction was a period of Court order alcohol counseling. This incident was not a crime of moral turpitude and in no way reflects on my fitness to study or practice law."

I have a lot of experience in law school and Bar admissions matters. Feel free to give me a call if you'd like to discuss further.

GOOD LUCK!

Ed
