Legal Question in Elder Law in Arizona

elder extortion

i used an elders checking account for my personal money. This money was used due to the fact i am a single parent w/2 kids and was not able to make my rent for several months in a row. The elder did not know i used the money. I have since then gone to the elder and confessed, however, adult protection and the police have now become involved.

What are my rights, if any.

Your best option is to restore (repay) the monies you took, to the elder's account. You have duties and obligations to an elder who is vulnerable, NOT Rights. You have committed an act which may subject you to criminal and/or civil penalties, so before Adult Protective Services and a police agency take it any further, you should pay back the money at once.

You must return the money you took. I understand that you must have been desparate, but this will not excuse your actions in the eyes of the law.
