Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

My daughter just turned 18 and is emancipated here in the state of Az. My ex got an order of protection against me one week before she turned 18. The order states I'm not to have any contact with my 3 children. I'm supposed to have supervised visitation but I stopped by my son's school bus stop to drop off money for his birthday but when he wasn't there, I called him and went to the house to give it to him. I rang the doorbell a few times and left. Now that my daughter is 18, is she still protected by that order or does she have the right to see me and can I call her?

Have you requested your initial hearing yet on the Order of Protection?

You can and should take steps to either contest or modify the Order of Protection since she is now an adult. If SHE wants an Order of Proteciton against you, she should have to get her own.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
