My friend is getting a divorce and she is supposed to ''Have her DISCOVERY done a day prior to going to court''. She asked me to try to find out what this meant.

Thank You

Re: discovery

This is a difficult concept to describe via e'mail. Discovery is basically the process of gathering the information that you desire to present at trial. Depositions, Interrogatories, and Subpoenas are included.

Typically, discovery deadlines are set well-prior to trial (not the day before).

Please have your friend contact our office for a free 1/2 hour consultation. In that time, I can review her case with her and give her some pointers for getting ready for trial.
