Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

My ex husband in Washington had CPS called on him and his wife-my son is down with me in Az for the summer- normally he lives with his dad- he is asking to stay and now with a investigation thru CPS is open on my ex- I think it is in best interest for my son to stay here until things are resolved or permanently. Can I do this with or with out legal help?

YOU CAN AND SHOULD file for an emergency change in custody. You do have a jurisdictional issue, but Arizona can, at a minimum, exercise "emergency" jurisdiction.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options for []. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Alicia or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
