i have been seperated from my husband for 13 years, he resides in another state (unknown to me) how can i find out if he has filed for divorce before i begin proceedings?

You would have to find out first what state he is living in. You may be able to do so through Internet people search engines or by hiring a private eye. Otherwise you will just have to go ahead and file and, most likely, there will be a default proceeding against him if he cannot be located. Good luck!
