Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

spusal support

My husband and I have been married for 2 yrs and I'm filing for divorce. What determines how much and how long a person gets spousal support in short marriages? What if the spouse asks for it but does not really need it?

Re: spusal support

In order to obtain spousal support in a two year marriage there must be some really interesting circumstances. Typically, a court will not consider spousal maintenance until about 10 years but may award some brief rehabilitative maintenance in circumstances where a spouse is at a severe disadvantage.
