Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

What is the statute of limitation for a parent to visit a child before they lose all legal rights? I was told that it was six months or a year. He has not seen the child for 5 months.

I have not heard anything of that sort. I think it is also relevant to when they were supposed to see the child if there is a visitation plan or something. Even if not, my guess is that there is no specific statute of limitations on visitation or loss of parental rights.

You can seek a termination of parental rights based upon abandonment, which is defined as six months of no contact and no support. But, there are other issues invovled.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.
