Statute of Limitations

What is the statute of limitations on items spelled out in a divorce decree? Such as property that one of the parties is to receive.

In general, you have 5 years from the date the divorce decree was entered by the Court to enforce the property division ordered. This is the general rule for enforcing all judgments & decrees in Ariona. If it has been less than 5 years, you can also file an Affidavit of Renewal of Decree, which will extend the enforcement for 5 more years from the date the Affidavit is filed. There are certain procedural rules you must follow in filing and serving this Affidavit, however, so I recommend you contact an attorney to help you properly do this. If you don't follow the correct procedure, the decree won't be validly renewed.
