Legal Question in Employment Law in Arizona

I am a independent contractor (1099) that was just terminated from a job of over 3 years. My boss still owes me over $3200 in commissions. How long does he have to pay this?

Thank you for the inquiry. Unless there is some sort of agreement between you and the former entity for which you provided services that states when you are to receive pay upon termination, it is difficult to say with any degree of certainty when you should receive it. Most likely, a court would hold the commissions are due when they would have been due had they not terminated your relationship. Otherwise, a court would hold they are due within a "reasonable time" after your termination. If you feel too much time has passed already, you may want to think about consulting with an attorney.
