Legal Question in Employment Law in Arizona

I resigned today and gave two weeks notice. My employer asked me to leave today instead. I was told by HR that I would only be paid through today. Do they have to pay me through my notice date?

Thank you for the inquiry. Unfortunately, there is no law that would require an employer to pay an employee through his/her notice date. If they terminate you, their obligation to pay for anything other than past work ends at the moment of termination.
