Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Arizona

home break in

I have a property in arizona that I just rented for the first time, and the renter are telling me someone tried to break in the back sliding glass door. The damage is $ 240.00 to replace the glass. Am I liable for the repair or are they? In the state of california the tenant is responsible. But I don't know about arizona laws. Please advise Thank You.

Look to your lease agreement for any provisions of responsibility.

Re: home break in

I don't know about Arizona law, as I am in attorney in California.

I would follow Ms. Palomino's advice. Read your lease carefully, and see if any provisions are applicable to this.

I also assume that you have homeowner's insurance. Contact your insurance agent, or carrier, and report this, and see if it is covered.

Good luck!
