Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Arizona

lease

i had to break a lease because of a stalker. even with police report of the incident, my landlord still wants me to pay rent. even though i no longer live at the property. they told me, even though i have just cause to leave, i still have to pay. is there anyway to stop having to pay or should i let them take me to court?

Let them take you to court. Bring all evidence of the situation, including police reports, etc. You may wish to pay costs of renting the apt, like newspaper ads, signs etc. to try and get it rented and then settle with LL. It might be cheaper than what they are suing for.
