Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Arizona

Termination of Lease

I signed a 12 month lease that ended May 31, 2006. I have vacated the apartment, however the landlord has stated that since I did not give written 60 day notice of intent to vacate that I will be liable for one additional month's rent. I disagree as this was not a month-to-month lease. Will I have to pay this penalty?

Re: Termination of Lease

Yes, if the written lease provides for a 60 day notice, you must give notice which is at least 60 days prior to move out day.

I would need to see written lease to give you definitive opinion.
