Legal Question in Personal Injury in Arizona

My wife was given a ticket for Failure To Yield Right Of Way when she exited a SuperMarket parking lot.

Her car was hit in the drivers door by a Mail Delivery truck.

Since she could not have hit the truck going sideways, could we protest the ticket?

Probably not. People exiting private driveways or private (or even public) parking lots onto a street do not have the right of way. The cars on the street do. So unless she used due caution in entering the flow of traffic and the truck was reckless, she is probably fully liable. It is also possible she could be found only comparatively liable in Arizona.
