Legal Question in Product Liability in Arizona

Truck rental movers

I made a reservation for a moving truck on 5/20/04 for a 7/31/04 move. On 7/30/04 I got a call from them telling me a truck would not be available until maybe 8/3/04. Since I had arranged for friends to help on both ends, and 8/3 is a Tuesday and friends will be working, I have to hire professional movers. At this writing I'm not even sure of a truck being available on 8/3. I may have to bear the expense of flying back and arranging for something else. My questions is, can I take this company to small claims court. Their headquarters is in Arizona and I'm in California.

Thank you,

Re: Truck rental movers

You will need to provide more information if you want to have this questions answered. An attorney will need to know if the contract was made in California or if you contacted them in Arizona? Whether moving company made any guarantees respecting moving van availability on that date, whether you intend to bring the action in California or wherever it is you moved to, whether you intend to bring suit in Arizona, do you know of whether they do much business in California? How did you come about knowing of this company (sometimes advertising in target state forms a basis for jurisdiction). Try resubmitting the question with the details stated above.

Best regards
