Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

Abandoned Property

We just purchased a home and the former tennants friend left a motorcycle. It has been here for 29 days and we were told by the police department to keep it locked up and safe in case the owner returns. Some one other than the owner has been trying to get us to release it to her. Now she claims to have the title and is now the owner of record. Do we have the right to charge storage if this is true?

Re: Abandoned Property

I don't know if you can charge for storage or not. I would have this woman show you the title and picture ID, and if it looks like it's her bike, then let her have it and be glad it's gone.
