Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

family buy home for family

My mother in law bought my husband and sister in law homes. All paid for. We do not pay rent. But we do pay for utilities. She is having one of her mental episodes and is saying she sent a certified letter to evict us. We haven't broken any rules. Can she evict us?

Not enough facts are stated here. Was the home purchased in your husband's name, and deeded to him? Was there some agreement in writing? A letter or memo confirming that it was a gift? If it is just her house, I suppose she can evict you, but would have to comply with landlord tenant rules of eviction.

Consult with an attorney, and present all facts and documents. Good luck.

If title to the house is in her name, then she can evict you. If it's in your name, then no, she cannot evict you.
