The answer depends upon your agreement with the management company. If you don't have a written agreement or need to modify and amend the agreement you do have, then be sure to hire experienced legal counsel to represent your interests in dealing with the management company. You want to be sure that the rent is held in trust and that your cash flow comes to you promptly.
