Re: Who regulates wireless

The regulatory model for most countries is that a national regulator (FCC in the US, OFCOM in the UK, RegTP in Germany, NCC in Nigeria, etc) ultimately regulates telecoms including wireless. Part of the duties of regulating telecoms is consumer protection. Complaints can be lodged in writing, or by e-mail, or by filling forms online at the website of the regulator or by phone calls. Remember to state your name, the complaint, the operator or person against whom the complaint is being made and other particulars such as address of the person against whom the complaint is made.

It should also be noted that some wireless industry groups are involved in "self regulation" but for the purpose of lodging a complaint which may require the wireless operator to make up for errors, it is better to channel the complaint to the national regulator. For the US, the FCC website is very helpful.
