fathers will

My quesgtion is how do we find out if we are listed in my fathers will ? My sister and I are from his first marriage and there are 4 other

from his second marriageour step mother is not one to keep us in the loop on things

If there is a will, your father's estate should pass according to the will, and you are entitled to see the will. If your mother-in-law opens probate the court will have the original will and you will be allowed to view it. If there is no will, you and your sister will be entitled to a share of the estate. If your mother-in-law does not open probate or allow you to see the will you can file a petition with the court for formal administration of your father's estate.

For any will to be probated (executed), it must be filed with a court of record in the location of death. So you should be able to see the will and what is in it. That is your legal right as offspring.
