Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arizona

minor's compromise

I am filing a petition for my daughter Jennifer. Her father was killed in an accident in Chico, CA. I live in Parker , AZ. Do I have to file the minor's compromise in Butte Co. Court, or can I file in AZ? And the amount is under 5000.00 does that have to be put in a blocked account til she is 18?

Re: minor's compromise

Generally, you would petition the AZ court for appointment as Conservator for your daughter, and for the court to approve the settlement ($5000 does not seem to be very much for the loss of her father). The court will also order that the money be placed in a blocked account.
