Re: my mothers estate

You should petition the probate division of the Superior Court where your mother resided, to open a probate and appoint you as personal representative of the estate. Once you are appointed PR, you will have the authority to gather up her assets, find documents and accounts, give notice to creditors and otherwise administer the estate according to law. You may find a Will or someone may come forward with a Will, otherwise, you will distribute the estate according to AZ law.

Re: my mothers estate

If your mother left a will you are entitled to see it. She probably nominated someone in her will to be her personal representative. If there is no will, or if she was married at the time of her death, her spouse would have the first priority to be appointed as personal representative. If there is no spouse or the spouse is not opening probate, you can petition the court to open probate and appoint you as personal representative. Once appointed you will have authority to find and take control of your mother's assets so that you can distribute them according to the will, or if no will, according to Arizona law.
