Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arkansas

How much time can he get?

My fiance was arrested in January on three warrants, failure to comply, failure to appear, and theft by receiving. I had no idea about any of this, but he has received 155 days for the failure to comply and will be arraigned on the TBR on the 22nd of March. To make matters worse, he was on probation at the time all these warrants backed up, so they have a "white warrant" or hold on him so he cannot get out of jail with bond. I have made numerous calls to the public defender's office with no word back on whether they can help, there are many circumstances around all these events. I cannot afford any kind of private attorney. He knows he did wrong, he's willing to comply and pay off any fines, but he and I dont want any more jail time. Would a plea bargain be the best for him? And can he get out of jail time on the probation revocation hearing? I have no idea how all this works. Also he is working in jail, can he get out in half the time even with the probation revocation hearing already set up?

Re: plea bargain-public defender

I am not licensed in any other state but Montana. I cannot give you specific advice re: your state's law. Your finace should be elgible for the services of the public defender if he is indigent. Obviously a new felony while on probation is a big problem. The other events you described may also be probation violations. He definitely needs representation. Good Luck.
