Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Concerning my fathers land

My father was living with a woman for quite a few years. I'm not sure how long. Together they bought a mobile home. They then moved to Texas and then back to Arkansas. My father bought some land and put the mobile home on it. After a few more years, they broke up and she left. That was seven or eight years ago. My father has, since that time, made friends with another woman. Bought a house. And is semi-leasing the mobile home to one of her children. Now that former girl-friend is coming around saying that she owns part of it, and is demanding her share. The former girl-friend didn't really contribute much. My father now owns the mobile home and the land. however her name is also on the title or deed or whatever it is for a mobile home. My question is ''Does she have any legal right to the mobile home?'' Thank you

Re: Concerning my fathers land

She may have some right to it if her name is on the title. Your father may need to try to buy her share of the mobile home from her to get her name off the title.

They might actually be married under Texas law regarding common law marriages. He might do well to settle with her before she talks to an attorney and decides she has a claim to the land as well as the mobile home.
