Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

How to get Joint Custody of Child

I am a victim of Domestic Violence. I recently left the residence I shared with boyfriend and my infant child.I am also a Felon on probation.I became enraged with my partner due to the abuse, 1 week ago, I left the situation. I was Afraid I was going to further cause Legal Problems(Police) for myself because of the anger due to the abuse however I left the residence without my infant son.The Father, my boyfriend has voiced that he will kill me if I try to take his son away from him several times, although not this particular time. That day he dissappeared with my son while I was packing. I have 2 other children whom currently are with my mother because of the Volitile enviornment of my previous residence. By Leaving in the circumstances, can my boyfriend say I neglected or Abandoned my Son, as he is threatining to do so. He has denied my written request to Visit my son.I want joint custody, but at this time I am somewhat homeless. I am working 2 jobs and actively attempting to obtain residence for myself and all my children. I am wondering if I can initiate precedings for visitation immediatly, as presently I can not afford an attorney and I am falling apart not being able to see my son.
