Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Transfer of homeowners deed

How do I get the deed to my mothers home changed over to my name? She is currently 69 years old. We would like to take care of this before she has to go into a nursing home or facility and before her death so that the property does not go into probate.

Re: Transfer of homeowners deed

You will need to have a deed drawn up transferring ownership. Your mother will need to sign it in front of a notary. Then it needs to be recorded in the county clerk's office.

I will be glad to help you with this process. Give me a call for a free consultation regarding this.

Re: Transfer of homeowners deed

You need much more than a deed. You need a consultation with an attorney who is an expert in MEDICAID law. If you do a deed now, you may PREVENT you mother from being able to be placed in a nursing home. It is very important that you know the law before execution of any deed.
