Legal Question in Employment Law in Arkansas

I recently realized that after two years of being a "salaried" employee, I should not have been considered EXEMPT from overtime pay. When I questioned the company regarding the issue, they didn't reply for a while and eventually gave me the answer that my pay must have been higher than the company norm to compensate for extra hours I worked. I then submitted a formal complaint to the labor board (January) I then got a call from State labor board (April) and because the corporate office is not in my state of employment, the state labor board would send my claim to the U.S. Labor Board. I then waited two months for any correspondence and finally called the other day and they cannot find record of any claim at all! Since the original file complaint (January) I still have not had any correspondence (July). Should I just give up on labor board and seek legal representation?
