landlords sue for personal assets?

If i break a lease that I can no longer afford, can the rental company sue me and seize my only asset, which is a car?

Re: landlords sue for personal assets?

If you breach the lease and the company obtains a judgment against you, it may recover its damages from any of your assets. The company could also garnish your wages in order to recover its damages.

Instead of breaking the lease, perhaps a better option would be to negotiate out of the lease with the company for a specific amount and set up a payment schedule that you can afford.
