Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Arkansas

Do I have a Sexual Harassment/Harassment Claim?

Worked for employer 2+ years. I on several occasions told co-workers their words and actions were offensive, and asked them to stop. After moving to days, my supervisor offered me an inexpensive rental, I accepted. Three weeks after moving in, I went to dinner with my Supervisor/Friend. After dinner there was a sexual encounter in which I felt pressured and intimidated, ie, Sexual Assault. He continually threatened me in numerous ways. I went on surgery leave, and upon returning to work, the harassment continued. After surgery leave, there was another encounter, and then continuing harassment. I made a complaint against this Supervisor. I requested a move to the other shift. I filed a complaint with the EEOC. After transferring to the other shift, there were several hostile co-workers and insulting comments. My employer began an Internal Investigation, which is on-going 2+ months. I made the decision to resign my position. I have attempted to obtain legal counsel. I feel pressured to obtain legal counsel before my 90 days expires, or I will lose my Right to Sue. The Supervior in question had had other complaints of this nature.

Re: Do I have a Claim?

It sounds like you have a case against the co workers

whom you actually filed a complaint about or atleast

told a superior about. You should seek an experienced

sexual harassment lawyer. He will be able to determine

if your work took the necessary steps to try and correct

the problem ie. transfer you or the offenders to

a new position ect. If he feels that you have a case

he will be able to help you with filing a lawsuit

and obtaining temporary unemployment benefits from the state. Good luck
