Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arkansas

time limits on filing probate

My husband passed away 7-1/2 years ago with no will. His son now wants to file against his estate and take all he can. Should I hire a lawyer? All we had other than debt as I had to file bankruptsy was collectibles we bought at flea markets, etc. Is there a time limit?

Is there anything even left in your late husband's name? It doesn't sound like there is anything left for the son to take. If there is, there will certainly be a question of the statute of limitations having passed.

If he were to actually file a claim against the estate, you probably want to consider hiring an attorney.
