Legal Question in Personal Injury in Bahamas

personal injury statute of limitations

In Sept. 2006 my spouse sustained a personal ''Step and Fall'' injury at Atlantis Resort in Bahamas.

1. What is statute of limitations for filing a legal claim in Bahamas against the resort owner?

2. Atlantis Resort is owned by Kerzner International with some offices in Plantation, Fla. Can litigation for an injury sustained on their property in the Bahamas be filed in Florida?

thanks for any advise.

Re: personal injury statute of limitations

The statute of limitations for personal injury is 3 years.

You should be able to bring an action in Florida but you must check with a Florida attorney on this.
