Legal Question in Family Law in California

They just told me i cant see my gf cause she 17 and im 19 . . now they have kicked her out there parents said to come pick her up cause they dont want her there. . . her real dad is coming from texas already we live in cali . . . is it a good idea to house her?...

Short answer - no. I have sympathy for her situation, but you & your parents could incurr some liability. First, the age difference is concerning. If the wrong things are said, you could potentially face a statutory rape charge. Even if she doesn't want to prosecute such a charge, her parents sound unstable. You never know what they could report to the police..

Also, if they change their minds and report her as missing, your parents could be looking at charges such as contributing to the delinquency of a minor, among other things. If she has an accident at your house, you may be liable. At least for the time being, it would be better if she stayed with a girlfriend. The least your parents can do to protect themselves -if they still decide to help - is get her parent's permission in writing and have you two sleep in separate rooms.
