Legal Question in Disability Law in California

Coming off of short term disability

I worked for a large company for 7 months and unfortunately had to have major back surgery. I was off for 5 months and am now ready to return to work. My restriction required me to go to a different location to work as where I was required twisting to get around as it was an extremely small enviornment. The company had 2 openings come up which I was 100% capable of working in. I was interviewed by the manager and told by HR that I was the #1 candidate, however I needed to meet with the Regional Manager. The regional manager never bothered to meet with me and the day before I was supposed to return to work I was informed that they were giving the position to another person who did not have the experience that I had. What is the companies obligation to me and does it sound like I have a case?
