Legal Question in Disability Law in California

Credit denial and disability

When refinancing my home, I was asked questions about the continuation of my disability for Social Security disability. The lender wanted a statement saying my disability is ongping and will not end in the next 3years. I have never been asked this question before or been asked for proof of my ongoing disabikity. I think this is discrimation based on whether or not I will continue to be disabiled. My disability is such that it would take a miracle to get over it.

Re: Credit denial and disability

The lender is probably not discriminating against you . . . only trying to verify that you will have a source of income with which to repay the loan . . . much like the lender would want a verification from an employer that the borrower will probably be employed for the next several years . . . if you were denied the loan i would ask the lender specifically why . . . good luck to you . . .
