Re: currupt military

Generally, the only remedy you have for service-connected injuries and disabilities is the medical retirement benefits provided to veterans by the Government, depending upon the percentage of disability determined by the military (usually through a physical evaluation board), or by the Dept of Veterans Affairs (the VA). This could include a disability pension, or benefits paid by the VA. Medical care is also available through the VA.

Unfortunately, this may depend upon receipt of an honorable discharge.

If you have received a dishonorable discharge or bad conduct discharge and you have exhausted your remedies through the USMC military justice system, there is a limited review you can request from the Navy Board for Correction of Military Records, located in Wash. DC., if you feel that the MC was wrong in its decision on your discharge. (I think the Navy Board also handles Marine Corps claims.) You should probably contact a veterans group like Disabled American Veterans, or the VFW. They can counsel you on your avenues of relief, or at least give you the address of the Navy or Marine Corps BCMR in Wash., DC.

Unfortunately, there are very few lawyers with expertise in this area, and I think they all have their offices in Wash. DC. But some individuals have succeeded in getting relief without a lawyer.
