Legal Question in Disability Law in California

I was recently training for a driving position at this transportation job but after going through most of the training they told me that it would not be safe to hire me because of the medications that I have to take because of my disabilities. The medications are Medical Marijuana used to be Vicodin but I had to stop taking that because it wasn't helping me much. I am also on Neurotin and these medications are for my chronic back and shoulder pain, tremors, and anger issues. I will have these disabilities for the rest of my life do to injuries in the military. Can they legally deny me the job because I have to take the medication?

Of course they can, and MUST. You are proposing they allow you to drive on the job while under the influence of drugs that have side effect warnings they can impair your abilities and safety, thus giving potential cause for a DUI arrest. That applies as well to you driving your own car.
